Tonight I am dedicating this post to one of the CANDIES. It is probably the most important of them all. Crapple.
I'm so awestruck I don't even know where to begin. First, I think Bill Gates has done a phenomenal job of marketing. He's a good guy too. There isn't a company that is jamming gadgets down your throat faster than this firm.
You buy a 3 G phone, take it out of the box, the 4 G is released the next day. And what about the Pads? Tired of staring at a 3 inch screen ? You can pick the pad up with your left hand, carefully place the phone down with your right hand, then walk three feet from your couch to your recliner and surf away on a 7 inch screen without losing your connection. You also get I-Toothpicks that allow you to slip into REM sleep with your eyes open. I-Holders are used to suspend your device above your bed so you can dream surf about the next days release.
Plus I think it's awesome that they created so many jobs in China and tomorrow we get another gadget announcement. I think we might get sold TV we can watch for free. Cool! Let's look at this beauty.

Now, what I really think. This is the most over hyped POS I have ever seen. It "sells" computers, phones, and net books. It is not a "movement". A movement is something you take the morning after you eat a huge meal at Steakback Outhouse. It causes adults to do stoopid things. Like "camping" out overnight for a phone. Are you kidding me ? Yeah, she sure looks happy to be in the "movement".
Or what about this guy ? At least wear a shirt dude. And he looks proud. OMG. Are you farking kidding me ?

Or these "people". I can see waiting in line overnight for a job, food, or shelter, but for a phone or a Pad ? Think about it. They trample each other to overpay for a gadget that you have no clue as to whether it works or not. Then you lock yourself into a two year contract with a sheety phone company that drops calls, adding another fixed expense to your budget. What's wrong with us?

Now to the recommendation: Zero teeth, eyes, and brain cells. Anyone see Wall-E ? If you did you will "get it". Think "space station". See your future...be your future.
Just like every other fad, this will go the way of the Iomega Zip drive or the Chia Pet. Too much competition will kill the industry. We've seen the gig before. The Lions will eat their young. Margins shrink. One earnings warning for this thing and it will look like Black Friday at Walmart, only they will be trying to get "out" of the store. But, I think you should buy at 275 then hold.
There will be societal implications unleashed on us due to the smart phone tsunami. My belief is gadget overload will eventually take a toll on our youths' and adults' minds. It's an addiction like alcohol or crack. Texting and sexting and bears oh my !
When the "Intervention" show starts sending the drunks to outpatient clinics and doing shows about teens with their eyeballs glued to a 3 inch screen addicted to playing Minesweeper, you know it's gone too far. By the time today's kids hit 40 their brains will be oatmeal and eyes shot.
Twice this year my son was nearly killed by a phone addict, oblivious to the world, blowing a red light. The other day, I was waving a lady in to my crowded lane. I kept waving and waving but she couldn't put down her phone to turn the friggin wheel! She had that look like "oh, thanks...yap yap yap..oh forget it...ya yap yap..."
Though it's one idiot's opinion, this CANDIE should have a Surgeon General's Warning on the side of each box. "If you find yourself waiting in line for a phone over twenty four hours while it's raining, snowing, or hot, immediately seek medical help."
One CANDIE left. You own five. I own one. Next up, Express Scripts. I think they write screen plays and sell them real fast. I'll check it out.

As Apple products get commoditized by competitors, money will be made on the short side.
