This post is dedicated to the great show on CNBS called "Lost Money" or "Fast Money". It is so popular that it is on twice a day: once in the middle of the day and once after the markets close. This was the show that Jeff Mackey saw "car people" on. He got fired and CNBS kept Dennis Kneale and gave him his own show.
The personalities are "electric professionals" and do very well in parabolic mania rallies and short squeezes chasing any bottle rocket without concern for their audience or emotions. If the market turns bearish, they lose a lot of money because they only go long. If they blow a call, you'll never hear about it again. Only the winners. That's why it's called Lost Money.
If they make a bad pick, or recommend buying a sheetload of options on the day earnings is announced, the personalities typically take a day off, or a week. Case in point, RIMM. It was mentioned in the 60's as a steal and now no one talks about it. Also, by continually saying buy as a stock falls, they eventually will be right for someone.
The show is hosted by Marrisa Lee who is probably the the smartest of them all. Simon "Roy" Hobbs, the British chap, fills in once in a while and is very annoying.
The Stock Pickers-- all pickers must be able to talk without breathing for one minute or they get pitched into the Lost Money Hall of Shame Dumpster. This group can belt out a mean pump and dump and never have to come up for air.
Pony Tail 1- The brother of Pony Tail 2. They both could kick my ass cause they played football so I will mention they made some great picks and are my favorites. They both have pony tails. Pony Tail 1 is Pete Najarian. He is famous for coining the phrase "if you look at the ....if you look at the...if you look at the...and you just gotta own this". Sometimes he can get in fifteen "If you look at the" in twenty seconds without breathing. He's into options and stuff and when things start tanking he always talks about buying "protection".

Pony Tail 2- The brother of pony tail 1 is Jon Najarian. Looks like Ming the Merciless and has a pony tail..... 2 is always bullish and looking to "chase" some flag pole moves using options. Has a flair for the dramatic and obsesses about the "Vicks". Seems to do great but I have a hard time believing it.

Eddie- Joe "Eddie" Terrornova. Named Eddie after Eddie Munster for the wedge shaped tuft of hair that never grows. Eddie gets stuff wrong even when we are going up and is always bullish. He did get lucky on Potash and one day said it 27 times in one sentence. Trader Joe on The Daily Stool trademarked the famous house on fire whenever one of Eddie's picks go up in flames. When you see a burning house, he just blew another one.

I Don't Know- "I Don't Know" is Karen Finerman. She is called that because whenever a question is asked she always says, "I Don't Know". Another Trader Joe observation that will never let you watch the show the same way again. She handles millions of dollars. She Reminds me of Eeyore. How can you not like her though?

Seymour Butts- Tim Seymour. Another bull who is great in up markets. If he gives you picks and they get flushed, he will just move on to other picks as if you had an endless stash of cash to keep playing. He gets into short squeezes and parabolic stocks. Hates rationality and Peter Schiff.
Missed the photo shoot.
Groucho- Gee Adami. Been bearish forever but still recommends buys and gives kudos to other panel members when they get on a bubble roll. Hates gold.

Token Chick- Patty Edwards. Started out as ah well.....a Token Chick on Mid Day Lost Money. They always have one female surrounded by three stock pumpers. She is now a star. She received the Miss Apple Dipper Award for guaranteeing 200 this year and at times shows caution but generally is bullish. Now she's on everyday and is real famous.
There are a few more fill in's but they haven't hit the big time yet. This is the best of the best. The creme de la creme. Simply the best. But, to understand Lost Money, you have to know the language. I'll cover that later.
