Lee,
This website has become impossibly slow... What is going on...? Pages wont scroll...they take forever to load.... I am not having this issue with any other websites. #2Posted 12 February 2012 - 09:32 PM
If I load it in Chrome it works OK. It's been giving me problems for a year in IE. The title page pops up, and the body appears for a split second, then disappears. Sometimes it works in IE, sometimes it doesn't. It always works in Chrome.

Hmmmm. First complaint about the site in more than a year. I run it in chrome, ie, and firefox without seeing any problems. Recently the best performing browser has been IE, but I haven't seen any issues in either of the others. Let us know when it happens, and maybe one of our IT geniuses can figure out what's going on.

I just saw the disappearing page phenomenon in IE. It may be a javascript ad code for an expanding ad by TD Ameritrade that's causing the problem.
Normally, I stick with Chrome, but obviously I don't want to see problems in any browser. I just wrote this in IE. #5Posted 12 February 2012 - 10:26 PM
Page disappeared for 10 seconds. Blank space where an ad should be in the right column.

Definitely some conflicts with IE. I won't be able to sort it out until Wednesday. I'll be in meetings and on the road all day today and tomorrow.

I'm using IE 8. and haven't been having any problems. Pages load very quickly. Haven't experienced the disappearing page syndrome.

I'm seeing all kinds of problems with Internet Explorer not displaying this site or my other sites properly. Please use firefox or chrome until I can find out what the problem is.
Would appreciate any help. #9Posted 12 February 2012 - 10:37 PM
I'm using IE 8. and haven't been having any problems. Pages load very quickly. Haven't experienced the disappearing page syndrome. Same here. All navigation is seemless, although I do use adblock and thus never see any ads. #10Posted 12 February 2012 - 11:01 PM
Same here. All navigation is seemless, although I do use adblock and thus never see any ads. I and millions of hard working bloggers and webmasters would really appreciate it if you and everybody else blocking ads wouldn't do that. You think your business is bad. Try competing with millions of people giving away stuff for free and millions more expecting everything for free. These aren't like TV ads that you have to watch-- unless you have a VCR. They're sidebar content that your eye doesn't even see. Aside from that, the problems I was seeing in IE may have been because of being on a train in the middle of the woods on a wireless broadband connection. I'll check everything again later this week from a fixed location. #11Posted 12 February 2012 - 11:38 PM
Lee...FYI...I am running Firefox...
The last few weeks, I have notice that this site gets really really slow... Maybe it is something on my end...but I have only experienced it here. #12Posted 12 February 2012 - 11:48 PM

Sometimes it works in IE, sometimes it doesn't. It always works in Chrome. It disappears for me all the time but then all I have to do is hover the mouse over the 'Watch topic' icon and then it reappears #13Posted 13 February 2012 - 08:11 AM

I can log in with explorer but was never able to log in with firefox. If I want to post I have to open explorer and log in. #14Posted 13 February 2012 - 08:14 PM
shooter just went through similar problems. Decided to try IE9 and found it to be unuseable - however the sub pixel rendering of jpeg images is outstanding.
Now back on latest firefox (it MUST be the default browser and latest version) and no problems. I did a registry clean just before going back to firefox - probably had no affect. #15Posted 13 February 2012 - 08:48 PM
not having any issues - fast, efficient
firefox / linux (lights incense) #16Posted 14 February 2012 - 12:20 AM
This is what I don't understand. Different people having different experiences on different platforms. How can I can I address that? I need an IT guy to "splain" it all.

Opera screams
Please give us healthcare system where the providers get a free market, to bill as much as they can...and the providers, insurers and pharmas are protected from competition.

Just disable the scripts and ads one by one until you find the culprit. It's likely a script written before IE9 was released and has a compatibility problem with it. 1 user(s) are reading this topic0 members, 1 guests, 0 anonymous users |
